Les règles de navigation Lac de Côme
To navigate on Lake Comomust be observed Italian laws on navigation and boats shall be equipped with on-board equipment for navigation within 1 mile.
WARNING:In a small lake in the triangle area between Menaggio, Varenna and Bellagio, the distance from the coast is more than one mile and the equipment on board will be those within 3 miles.
WARNING:Any municipality may issue ordinances limiting the navigation of the boats or jetskis or the practice of water sports (water skiing / wakeboarding).

Equipment on board
Equipment within 1 mile
- Life jackets for each person on board;
- Lifering with 30m of floating rope;
- Bilge pump;
- Fire extinguisher;
Equipment within 3 miles
- Equipment within 1 mile;
- 2 red hand flares;
- Smoke buoy orange;
- Lights regulations;
- Horn;
General Rules
- Minimum distance from the coast 150m;
- Maximum speed of 27 knots = 50 km / h;
- The start and landing is allowed perpendicular to the coast;
Limitations on Lake Como
- Navigation at minimum speed in the Bay of Piona and between the comacina island and the coast;
- Mera River maximum engine power 15 hp;
- Other possible restrictions by municipal ordinances
Waterski / Wakeboard
- Minimum distance from the coast 300m;
- Maximum speed of 27 knots = 50 km / h;
- Allowed from 8:00 to 20:00;
- 2 people on board with driver's license and expert swimmers;
- Requirement use of life jacket;
- It's forbidden pull donuts of rubber or the like;
- Do not ski in the Bay of Piona and between the comacina island and the coast;
Jetski
- Minimum distance from the coast 150m;
- Max speed 27 knots = km/h;
- Use permitted: from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00;
- Minimum age 18, with driving license;
- Requirement use of life jacket;
- The start and landing is allowed only from the ports;
- It's forbidden launch jet skis on the beaches with the help of trucks and cars;
- It's forbidden pull donuts of rubber or the like;
- It is forbidden enter the bay Piona and between the coast and the Comacina island.
